Reflect prayerfully on the Scripture reading as you listen.
He answered them, “The mystery of the kingdom of God has been granted to you. But to those outside everything comes in parables, so that ‘they may look and see but not perceive, and hear and listen but not understand, in order that they may not be converted and be forgiven.’”
Mark 4:11-12
Lord Jesus, you taught your disciples in parables, helping them to understand the Kingdom of God and your true nature. Help us to see and hear you as you are and to open our hearts and minds to be transformed by your Word.
Glory be...
As a group read read your assigned parable together, then discuss and record what lesson you think that parable is teaching. Then write your own modern-day parable that would apply the same lesson to our modern world. Be ready to summarize the parable and explain the lesson of the assigned parable to the class. Then each groupwill read their new parable aloud to the class and explain how it presents the same lesson as the original parable.
