Do you notice any connections between the changing natural seasons and the different liturgical seasons?
Do you notice that certain times of year make you feel a certain way? Is there a connection between those feelings or experiences and Christ’s own human journey?
Activity 1: The Liturgical Calendar
Reading the various sections of the handout. As you read through the different seasons on the cycle, share some of your favorite parts of each season, and memories of how you’ve experienced them in the past. What were the things that left the strongest imprints on your mind and heart? Use your colored pencils or markers to color in the various sections of the liturgical calendar. Then mark various Marian feast days, saints’ feast days, and martyrs’ feast days. Look up the feast days and identify some dates. If you need ideas for these, see the following web resources:
