Scripture, Tradition, & the Magisterium
Objective
I can explain the importance of Scripture, Tradition, and the Magisterium in Divine Revelation
Warm Up
Activity 1: “Put the knife down.”
Each group must create a skit about anything you want. It must be between 30 seconds and 2 minutes long, and every person in the group must have at least two lines. It must also contain the line “Put the knife down.” You will have five minutes to create the skit; then we will perform the skit for the class.
Discussion Questions
Whose skit used the line “Put the knife down” correctly? How do you know?
How do you know in which context I meant the line to be used?
This activity illustrates a truth about Scripture. How do we know what a particular passage refers to and what it means? We can’t simply assume and interpret it for ourselves. This is why Christ gave us the Magisterium of the Church.
