The Gospels are the heart of Scripture since they convey the life, teachings, and Paschal Mystery of our Lord.
The threefold formation of development of the Gospels has been guided and inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Based on his unique experiences, background, and language, each evangelist wrote in a different literary style to convey the Faith to a different audience, highlighting different aspects of Jesus’ life.
The symbols of the evangelists demonstrate foreshadowing and fulfillment in the Old and New Testaments.

PSALM 139:1-2
Since many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the events that have been fulfilled among us, just as those who were eyewitnesses from the beginning and ministers of the word have handed them down to us, I too have decided, after investigating everything accurately anew, to write it down in an orderly sequence for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may realize the certainty of the teachings you have received.
